Our Beliefs
THE SCRIPTURE
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit to write words of Scripture. Therefore, the Bible is without error. (Luke 24:27, 44; John 5:39; Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 10:11;2 Timothy 3:16)
GOD
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world. (Gen.1:1; Matthew 6:9; Luke.1:34-35; John.1:1,2,14,18; Romans 3:24-26)
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Divine Person who convicts the world of sin (righteousness and judgment); that He alone brings new life to those who are spiritually dead; that He baptizes all believers into the one true Church, which is the Body of Christ; that He indwells them, bestows spiritual gifts upon them, and fills those with power who ask Him. Every believer is called to live in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit so that he will not fulfill the lust of the flesh but will bear fruit to the glory of God. (John 3:3-8; 14:16-17; 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, 13; Ephesians 4:30; 5:18)
MANKIND
We believe that man was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort. (Genesis 1:26-27;John 3:3; Romans 3:10, 23)
SALVATION
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation only occurs when a person places his faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for his sin. (John 1:12; Acts 16:30-33;Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9)
THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word and daily yielding to the Spirit, every believer will mature and become conformed to the image of Christ. (Romans 6:11-13; 8:2, 4, 12-13; Galatians 5:16-23; Ephesians 4:22-24;Colossians 2:1-10; 1 Peter 1:14-16; 1 John 1:4-7; 3:5-9)
THE CHURCH
We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to a lost world (Matthew 25: 3-46; 28:18-20)
